How to check an Ontario online casino is the real one
Many brands keep a separate Ontario version of their site, and look-alike pages copy the branding of both. Only the version registered here answers to the AGCO, so the address matters as much as the logo.

Find both logos
Every site run by a regulated operator displays the iGaming Ontario logo and the BetGuard logo. If either one is missing, stop there.

Match the exact address
Look the brand up in the directory above, then compare the address in your browser with the official one, character by character. A single extra letter or a different ending is enough to rule a site out.

Read the operator’s name
The terms and the footer name the company that runs the site. It should be the same company the directory lists, word for word.
If one of the three checks fails, close the tab. Then reach the casino through its address in the directory instead of through an ad or a search result.
Eight rules every registered site must follow
An AGCO registration (the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) comes with a long rulebook, the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. These eight are the ones you will notice as a player.

Bonus offers have rules of their own. Standard 2.05 lets a casino show inducements only on its own site or to players who agreed to receive them, so you will not find any offer on this page. An offer that comes with conditions cannot be called free either (2.06).
Ontario’s regulated iGaming market since 2022
Ontario opened its online market to private operators on April 4, 2022. Each one needs an AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, the Crown agency that conducts and manages the games and oversees the money players deposit. Gaming revenue is shared with the provincial government.
OLG.ca sits apart. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation runs it directly, so it is legal without appearing in the directory. Alberta opened a private market of its own in July 2026, and our page on legal online casinos in Canada follows both provinces.
The model has pulled players away from unregulated sites. In an Ipsos study commissioned by iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, 91.1% of Ontarians who gambled online said they did so on regulated sites, up from 83.7% a year earlier. In the market’s fourth year, players wagered more than $103 billion and gaming revenue topped $4.2 billion, unaudited figures published by iGaming Ontario.
The companies behind Ontario casino sites
Seventy-four sites do not mean 74 separate businesses. Apollo Entertainment Ltd runs seven of them, from Captain Cooks Casino to Zodiac Casino, while Cadtree Limited and Skill On Net Ltd. run four each.
Brand names can also hide the company. Bet365 is operated in Ontario by Hillside (International Sports) ENC, and 888 Casino by VHL Ontario Limited. It is that company, not the brand, that holds the registration and answers to the regulator.
Each card in the directory names the operator and lists the sister sites that share it, so you know when two familiar brands lead back to the same business.
From sign-up to payout on online casinos in Ontario
Opening an account takes your name, date of birth, address and contact details, plus the information federal anti-money laundering law requires (3.04). You confirm that it is accurate, accept the terms, and confirm you are fit to play before your first bet (3.05, 3.07, 3.11).
Deposits go through only once a financial institution has authorized them, and cryptocurrency is refused because it is not legal tender (5.69). iGaming Ontario names online bank transfer, debit and credit cards as the usual methods, and any fee must be shown before you pay (5.77).
Withdrawals go only to an account in your own name, after identity checks (5.70), and must be paid “as soon as is practicable” (5.71). No standard fixes a number of hours or days, which is why payout terms carry the most weight in how a Casiloon score is built.
Legal Ontario casinos versus offshore sites
A licence issued abroad, however well known the regulator, gives a site no standing in Ontario. Only the sites in this directory are registered with the AGCO, and only they must offer the protections listed above.
Sweepstakes and “social” casinos that sell coins and pay out prizes are not in the directory either, so none of these rules cover the money spent there. The same line binds us: under Standard 1.21, a registered operator cannot work with an affiliate that also promotes unregistered sites. Casiloon lists none, a rule explained on the page about who is behind Casiloon.
Common questions from Ontario players
Can I use my account when I travel outside Ontario?
Yes, you can log in, and even open an account, from elsewhere. You cannot bet until you are back in the province, because every site checks your location before and during play (Standard 3.02). A VPN will not get around it: sites must detect software that hides your location.
What happens to my balance if a site leaves Ontario?
The operator follows the exit process written into its agreement with iGaming Ontario and contacts its players to explain what they need to do. If the site has already gone, iGaming Ontario’s player support page is where to ask about the account.
Who do I contact if a withdrawal is stuck?
Start with the casino’s own support team and keep a copy of every exchange. If that leads nowhere, iGaming Ontario’s player support page sets out the next steps.
Why can’t I find a brand I know in the list?
Try the company name too, and the exact spelling iGaming Ontario uses, such as “Comeon!” or “Neo.bet”. If it is still missing, the brand may offer only sports betting here, may have left the market or may not be regulated in Ontario. If you think we missed one, write to us.
Can I open accounts on two sites run by the same company?
Yes. The limit is one account per site (Standard 3.09), and each brand counts as its own site, with a separate sign-up, separate checks and separate settings.
How often is this list updated?
We compare it with the iGaming Ontario directory at least once a month, and again whenever a site joins or leaves. The date under the directory shows the last check.
